From a young age, my mind swirled with day dreams and plot lines waiting to be born in written form. As an adult, I began honing my craft and pursuing my passion for writing.
I’m a North Carolina-based writer, poet and educator. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Public History from Meredith College and a Masters in Library Science from North Carolina Central University.
I write in an wide array of formats–from short stories to poetry and essays to children’s literature. My interests lie in spirituality and religion, self-awareness and discovery, politics, and crafting authentic narratives which dismantle Islamophobic sentiments.
Currently, I write on Islamic spirituality, politics and pop culture for Muslim Girl. My work is also featured on Solace UK, a charity aimed at uplifting Muslim converts.
I recently finished my first children’s picture book entitled, “A Sky Full of Prayers: Nora’s Hajj journey,” which insha Allah will be published in the near future.
